The PYT Krispy Kreme Burger
About two weeks ago PYT restaurant named their burger of the week and I immediately wanted to try it. Of course in true DanielleJ fashion, I didn't get over there the first week. Yeah, I'm a lazy bum and I know it. Anyway, the store owner, @tommyup, decided to keep it on the menu. I'm not sure if this is a permanent menu change or not, but I'm happy for the extension.
Since I was already up and on that side of town Saturday, I decided to stop in to try the well received burger.
My server was a nice dude (I can't remember his name). We chatted for a while. *glaring at all of my confused friends* YES! I chatted with a stranger! I blame it on the acquisition of my new iPhone4. I'll save that story for another post.
Back to my burger.
The plate arrived and it looked like the photos that have been floating around twitter. I was completely intrigued as to how they cut the doughnuts to make the bun because the edged weren't jagged. As you can see from my photo below, it has the doughnut bun, 2 patties, 2 slices of cheese, and chocolate covered bacon. I don't like sweet potatoes, so I opted for the regular fries.
The burger tasted ok. I mean, it was good, but me wanting more of something. I think that missing something was a salty or a tangy flavor. The burger was VERY sweet - which is what I expected, but the only time I tasted salt/tang was when I ate a french fry.
I can now say that I've tried the PYT Krispy Kreme burger and I most likely won't eat another one, but that's ok because Tommy has other amazing burgers on the menu that are better suited to my food palette - like the lobster burger.
